A small range of varietal wines from lower awareness regions of Western Australia. We decided to produce this range simply because we could not resist! The grape quality for these wines was clearly evident prior to harvest and the temptation to keep them as separate parcels was just too much. We are most pleased with this decision however the next decision was to determine just where these wines fit into our portfolio. Simply, they didn't ... so The Growers' Dedication Series was created.
Hand picked over two separate days, fruit was chilled each night of harvest, whole bunch pressed with a tiny extraction of 500 litres per tonne of "free run". Minerally, limey and a great example of Riesling from Western Australia's premier Riesling district. The grapes were skillfully grown on the gravelly soils at the Powderbark Ridge Vineyard, Frankland River.
Dedicated to Brother John May S.J. who has been involved in winemaking at Sevenhill Cellars, in South Australia's Clare Valley for five decades now. Brother May is the Uncle of The Growers founder, Phil May.

In an attempt to do justice to the outstanding Angelicus Vineyard grape quality, the two hand harvest grape parcels that make up the finished wine were picked well apart. The timing of the first harvest was influenced by the strawberry flavours and attractive acids that the grapes were displaying. The second harvest was determined by the lovely dark cherry and savoury chutney flavours produced as the grapes began to fully ripen. The resultant wine, a blend of the two parts, is a fuller bodied style of ripe varietal expression . In some ways a wine that we don?t want to sell because those that have already discovered it want to make it last as long as we can.
Dedicated to one of Australia's most innovative and skillful wine industry minds, David Paxton. Excelling in his own projects based around his beloved McLaren Vale wine district of South Australia, he was responsible for a cutting edge, cool climate vineyard project in Victoria's Yarra Valley - it was here that Phil May enjoyed some of his best lessons in the importance of grape quality. RRP $300.00 - That's a saving of $60.00!
