Dedication Series Frankland River Riesling 2004
Limited production ultra premium regional wine.
Dedicated to Phil's uncle, Brother John May S.J., who played such an influential mentor role in Phil's early industry career stages. John May has consistently produced some of Clare Valley's best Rieslings in his capacity as winemaker at Sevenhill Cellars. This hand picked Riesling was produced from grapes (two parcels) produced by the Powderbark vineyard in Frankland River, Western Australia. Whole bunch pressing followed the chilling of the fruit overnight and only the first 500 litres per tonne were retained for the production of the resultant wine. The wine is clear with some green hues. Lime and mineral dominate the aromas and flavours of this superb Riesling that will reward those willing to cellar.
Dedication Series
The Dedication Series was initiated as a range designed to showcase the individuality of some of the fruit parcels from given regional vineyards of Western Australia. At the same time it gave The Growers' founder, Phil May, the opportunity to acknowledge a few of the people that have played an important part in his life.
